When the Stiff Records onslaught began in 1977, the roster boasted such soon-to-be luminaries as The Damned, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Wreckless Eric, and Ian Dury.
With his band The Blockheads, Ian brought stunning lyrics and a broad musical range that included jazz and funk to the exploding punk scene. While initially more popular in the UK than abroad, Dury scored worldwide hits with “Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick,” “Reasons To Be Cheerful” and of course, his anthemic “Sex and Drugs and Rock & Roll”.
This 20-track CD brings together all of his hits plus several rare, live and previously unreleased songs.
