The Moody Blues - The Magnificent Moodies

All legends have a beginning.
Before the Dark Side of the Moon, there was Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd.
Before Space Oddity, there was David Jones.
And before “Nights In White Satin”, there was “Go Now”.

When the Moody Blues went into the studio in 1964 to cut their first tracks, they were a real, honest-to-goodness R&B band. Like fellow British bands The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Animals, The Moody Blues looked from their hometown of Birmingham to America for their inspiration.

The resulting recordings yielded a fantastic LP and their only #1 single (it reached #10 in the US). Soon after, guitarist Denny Laine and bassist John Lodge would leave the band and Justin Hayward would bring the classical-influenced psychedelia would become a trademark of the Moodies.

This CD is a portrait of the original Moody Blues line-up – featuring tracks that appeared on the original album (both the UK and the US versions) as well as more obscure tracks from those sessions
